In May, 2026 the PWHL (Professional Women’s Hockey League) announced the formation of a new team in San Jose for the league’s fourth season.
The San Jose team has announced it will play the 2026-27 season in the SAP Center. The team also announced their General Manager and Head Coach, Troy Ryan.
The expansion bid was led by the City of San Jose and Sharks Sports & Entertainment, operators of the San Jose Sharks, San Jose Barracuda, and SAP Center.
The website colors indicate an orange and blue color scheme, but nothing official has been announced as far as team name or colors. Other PWHL teams don’t directly match their male counterparts.
