The San Jose professional women’s hockey team will begin play the PWHL (Professional Women’s Hockey League) in December, 2026. They will play their home games at SAP Center.
Uniform Reveal
On October 8, 2026 the as-of-yet unnamed San Jose women’s hockey team unveiled their home and away jerseys. The inaugural jerseys feature the city name, “San Jose” diagonally across the front. The press release lists two main colors: mandarin orange with sky blue accents.
The new uniforms are made by Bauer, a long-time hockey equipment manufacturer. Replica jerseys will be available by the December 4 opening game against the Minnesota Frost at SAP Center.
Announcing the Team
In May, 2026 the PWHL (Professional Women’s Hockey League) announced the formation of a new team in San Jose for the league’s fourth season to begin play in December 2026.
The San Jose team announced it will play the 2026-27 season in the SAP Center. The team also announced their General Manager and Head Coach, Troy Ryan.
The expansion bid was led by the City of San Jose and Sharks Sports & Entertainment, operators of the San Jose Sharks, San Jose Barracuda, and SAP Center.
The website colors indicate an orange and blue color scheme, but nothing official has been announced as far as team name or colors. Other PWHL teams don’t directly match their male counterparts.
