San Jose Dukes

The San Jose Dukes was a professional minor league baseball team that played in San Jose, California for two years, 1891 and 1892. The Dukes were really the first incarnation of a string of minor league teams from the Prune Pickers to the Bears. They played in the California League. The Dukes home field was Agricultural Park in San Jose.

1891 Dukes Season

For the inaugural Dukes season of 1891 they put up a winning record of 90-57 behind the managing of Mike Finn. The Dukes finished with a first place championship in 1891.
