San José has a rich history of semi-professional and professional baseball with teams forming since 1885. The game has been played across the decades in parks like Graham Field, Sodality Park, Luna Park, and today at Excite Ballpark.

The city has hosted legends from barnstorming Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb and seen pros pass through on their way to greatness, like Harry Krause (Prune Pickers/PHI Athletics) and Hall of Famer George Brett (Bees/KC Royals). The city even hosted the notorious San Jose “Bad News” Bees, noted for their debaucherous offield play.
