Opened in 1933 for San José State University athletics, it’s the current home for the San José State football team.
In the past Spartan Stadium has hosted professional soccer in the San Jose Clash/Earthquakes and CyberRays, as well as numerous international soccer games. The San Francisco Dragons lacrosse team and the San Jose Apaches football team also played there.
In 2023 CEFCU Stadium opened a new student athletic center that encompasses the east side of the field, replacing the bleacher-style hill that served as the “student section” for at least the later years.
